Yes and no. Both are a bulb that comes back and come be divided and replanted. This is actually encouraged, like dividing daffodil bulbs after the green is gone. The green nourishes the bulb for a the flower/ growth the next season. Lilies usually crave sun, like my daylilies and water lilies and tiger lilies. Hostas usually have a beautiful flower (various shades), and stays green for a long time. Good ground cover, too, for animals, and keeps the weeds down and soaks up water.
