This feeling makes me think of Keats the poet, and it’s not a bad thing. It’s a state we all experience, and should not be feared or feel ashamed about, what’s the German? Weltschmerz? World weariness?
It may be a different type of sadness. I see melancholy as midway between sad and depressed. Not sure if that’s right.
