In the classroom, as an English teacher, I'm on the front lines of the Culture Wars. Literature is always the first book on the bonfire of fascists and Nationalists. It can be Right (Hitler-types) or Left (Stalin-types). And it's not only from the Right, like protesting Malala and Coates, but the Left, and doing Orwellian things like changing the word "fat" in Dahl to less offensive, or omitting the N word from Twain.
