I have found Middle Management really dislikes remote workers as what do they have to do? IDK. Perhaps not everywhere. I know many who are so much more productive and happy working for home. I much prefer the classroom. But like in school. Teachers are with students, so what do admin do? No one needs to be sent to the office.
