Great essay!

According to Arthur Miller, the author of the play, in ‘Why I Wrote The Crucible: An Artist’s Answer to Politics,’ in The New Yorker, “McCarthy’s power to stir fears of creeping Communism was not entirely based on illusion, of course; the paranoid, real or pretended, always secretes its pearl around a grain of fact,” by which, Miller views human fear as a seed that should be controlled when it starts growing and spreading, but when we lose its growing vines, any truth seems infeasible and starts to get blurred among individuals.

Great essay! "Fear doesn't travel well," he writes, as why Hitler and these "Mean Girls" look so ridiculous, and yet this idiot instilled such fear, like McCarthy, or any dictator.
