As a satirist and as a reader of satire, I'm finding that the author behind this - like Swift in A Modest Proposal who advocates eating Irish babies to cure hunger in Ireland, may really be against such fascism that it alleges to support. The problem with bad satire is that it may make people think eating Catholics is actually a good thing. The jury in me gulliver is still out on this until I finish. It's like when Burgess wrote A Clockwork Orange and then feared hooligans in England would copycat because it was cool and slick.
